My name is Maria. I grew up and lived in Africa and I have a great passion not only for the culture but also for textiles.
The textile is very attractive, with vibrant colors and unique patterns, but it is not given the recognition it deserves.
Kuutungas started as a hobby, and after some time I invested in platforms and sales, such as Africabaie.

Kuutungas is a clothing and accessories brand that aims to honor African culture and traditions through fashion, bringing them into modern times.
Founded in 2013 by Maria, an African woman passionate about her roots, this business seeks to guarantee the quality of its pieces, ensuring that those who wear them feel the true identity of Africa alive, in a natural fusion between tradition, style and cultural expression.
We have a wide variety of garments available for both men and women, such as caftans, suits, dresses, ties, bags, and more. We use African fabric as the primary material in our designs.
Kuutungas means "sewing." And it is through sewing that we find a way to bring our inspiration to you, through fabrics and colors that tell stories. But more than just clothing and accessories, Kuutungas is a celebration of African origins, in a contemporary, free, creative, and borderless vision.
